TP install safe mode errors....

Ok, so I have tryed to instal this neat little portal.. its just what i want.. BUT my server has SAFE MODE turned on and they WILL NOT turn it off for me.. I have tryed to manually install it and for the most part have done except when i get to adding the lines to the index.template. I have followed the instructions but the last lines mentioned in them are NOT in the index.template so i do not know where to put the additions. Am I missing something? I have been able to edit everything else...  i must be close... HELP... :o


My other question is why does TP need to access files outside of the www root folder? as the admin explained the safe mode error to me??

Can you post the lines you are looking for? Maybe I can help give you an idea of where they are located.

Also, what version of SMF are you using as well? That could make a difference, as I think that some of the lines from index.template.php were moved to BoardIndex.template.php when SMF went from 1.1 RC1 to 1.1 RC2.

i did have it set to a default theme while trying to get tp to work.. THANKS PEOPLE!

the lines are from the mod instructions. the lines are D-F.  I was able to find everything else.

Ok, updates from 1.0.5 to SMF  1.1 RC2. now its telling me that TP is not compatable with the RC2 release?  UG! ARGH! :tickedoff:

TP versio 0.8 will be compatible with 1.1 RC2, the current release of TP is only compatible with 1.1 RC1 (but be warned RC1 has a bug in Package Manager and after installing, you would have to manually upload the majority of the files because the Package Manager uploads zero byte files).
