Missing Tab & Admin Options

I just installed a blank SMF version 1.1.3 through Fantastico.  I updated it to 1.1.4 through the SMF admin panel.

I installed TinyPortal 0.983 on to this and it said it worked, but I have two problems.

There is a missing tab on the menu at the top, I assume it should be for forums:

Additionally in the admin panel the section labeled TinyPortal on the left menu is completely empty.

Am I missing something obvious?  How can I fix this?

Please read the sticky topic in the installation board about your issue, you have all the info you need right there :)

Ah, didn't see those sub-forums up there, well that was easily fixed, thanks for the reply :) .

Fantastico by default installs SMF set to UTF8, so for TinyPortal you either need to change the language to English or upload to your default theme language folder the TP UTF8 language pack.

Fantastico is good for Noobs 'new users' but having experienced it once, I went back to installing things myself.

PS it also creates a database with a Swedish character set and installs about 20 languages that the average user doesn't need.

I know, I can (and have in the past) easily install it myself when I need to.  But this is only a temporary install, I just wanted to test out TinyPortal to see how it works and what it can do, so the extra languages and such realy don't matter.  Last time I used Fantastico it installed to English by default rather than the English-UTF8 option so I wasn't expecting that.

Anyway it's fixed now and is fine for what I need it for.  And as for TintyPortal, sor something that installs straight from the SMF package manager I have to say I'm very impressed so far.
