I'm having trouble seeing the tinyportal bloc in my admin panel.

I tried deleting and reinstalling TP from the site but when i went to reinstall i received several errors that some actions had failed.

When i click on profile i get this error:
QuoteFatal error: Cannot redeclare tpsummary() (previously declared in /home/c338843a/public_html/Sources/Profile.php:2945) in /home/c338843a/public_html/Sources/Profile.php on line 2995

The site is new and i can reinstall the site with no trouble.

I followed the documentation but I think i may have missed a step or the theme is not compatible.

I'm very new to all this. This is my first attempt at working with SMF and TinyPortal.

Please Help  :'(

Please try searching before you post. All the problems you mentioned have been answered many times.

If you have fails on the package install test it means that unless you are prepared to add the code to that file or files manually you should not proceed. TP is a Tiny Portal but a very big mod and if you want a trouble free install it should be installed before all other mods.

When installing TP you must be using the default theme.

The default language of TP is English, to use TP with any other language you will need to add an additional TP language pack, otherwise you will get blank spaces where TP text should be.

The fatal error was caused by an incomplete uninstall followed by a reinstall, which has duplicated code in one of the files.

Don't install other themes until after you have installed TP and then choose one specifically designed for TP, otherwise you will not be able to see or use TP other than in the default theme.

OK, I did a complete reinstall of the website from scratch, then installed the latest version of TP.

I found this topic http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php?topic=16355.0 which tells how to solve the problem.

Unfortunately I cannot edit the default language because Settings.php is ''read only''

How can i change the permissions for this?

IchBin

You need to chmod your file. If you open your site with and FTP program you can chmod it writable. There's a how-to on chmod at the SMF site.

SpartanDan

I am using the gameservers CP Panel and have access to the FTP files.

What should the permissions be set to for it to function properly?

The way i'm reading this is it should be 755 right?

And what is the correct patch of the file that needs to be changed?

I found the path to the correct Settings.php and changed the permissions to 766 which solved the problem of editing this part.

Now i need to dl the "English" language pack, which i can't find on TP, is that on SMF?

IchBin

The english language files for TP comes in the TP install package. The english files for SMF come in their install package as well.

SpartanDan

RGR i found the dl on the SMF site, and uploaded the "English" files to the site and it works great.

Thanks for the help IchBin, sometimes you just need a shoulder to cry on to figure things out.

:)
