What should I install ?

I wonder what is the TinyPortal Database and if I have to install it with TinyPortal.
And what is TinyPortal Manual ?

It seems I also need a new skin...isn't there a stp by step guide to installation ?
Any suggestions ? I'm using SMF 1.1.3

Welcome to TinyPortal.

You need to download TP and install through the SMF package manager. Sometimes you may have problems with the host and will need to manually edit the files. Details can be found in the Docs section, under Manual Install. You need to install using the SMF default theme.

Once you have successfully installed TP, you will need to use TP compatible themes at this time. Plans are that this wont be the case with TP 1.0

I suggest looking in the Installations board here too and take a look at the stickies around the forums.

Ok, and, about the Database ? Do I need it, or is it a part of the manual install ?

I installed TP only using the Package manager, and, as far as I see, it works...do I need another skin or the default is ok ?

The database is part of SMF. You can find some really very nice themes here at TP. Check out Crips board, StormLrd, RebelRose, Bloc.. Many are free, though some are purchased themes found in the Theme Club.

You can get a feel for some of them by using the Theme Changer, to the left and some of the boards have the theme set so you can view them working.

Well that is totally up to you.  If you are happy with the default then stay with that one.  If not look through our wide array of themes here both free and paid.   THe database tp install is in the event that there was errors with database not updating or creating the tables needed for the tp install.   If your tp installed fine I would not even worry about it.  Hope this helps TIck
