im new and need help

OK I'm new to the whole smf thing I'm trying to find out how to add mods and such i just download the tiny portal mod. i realize i have to do what the instructions say (make changes to certain file) but were in my smf folder do i upload the mod ..(packages, ect.). and after i load it will the mod automatically work or will i have more to do i couldn't find anything on about this so sorry if it is already posted here or on the smf site but i really could use the help please and thank you

You shouldnt need to make any changes. Download it to your PC, then upload it using the package manager and it will install itself on your SMF Default theme.

Once youdo this, it will only affect the default theme, and any TP enabled themes you get from this site. Be sure to use a theme that matches your set-up exactly.
Helios for SMF 1.0.5 is different from helios_TP for SMF 1.0.5.
And the same with SMF 1.1 RC1.
