The Answer is No.

I have 4 websites and all have SMF on it. One of the Sites which is the largest has TP + SMF on it. Guess what guys... the largest community I have seem to run much faster that the other SMF Site with loads of Mods...

I never noticed it till one of our members pointed that out.

TP+SMF [No other Mod] takes 0.013 seconds to load and at the same time SMF+ 26Mods took 0.580 seconds to load > both with 16 queries each :D ...

Isint that amazing ... and every community within the span loves the Forum with TP on it :D ....

This is all thanks to TP that I didnt have to install any mods ... as TP does it all :D

Thank you for reporting that! Its great to know these things. I'm glad you and your community are loving the very thing that we all have loved for so long. :D

Cheers to all the Developers who put their minds together and create such new features. I have used other forums as well on my other sites but none were satisfactory. incuding VB .... but SMF was somthing that I wanted to try out. First time I downloaded and started SMF on my site it was 1.0 and was no such thing as TP that I knew off at that time. I was too bussy with making new themes for other softwares ... but when I first saw TP .... i was just thinking all about it .... it caught my imagination and i ran wild... i tried installin TP but was no joy .... i didnt mind uninstalling SMF and installing 1.1 and then try it .... It worked ... it worked flowless.... no doubt .... SMF rocks... but TP is a diamond on the crown ...

Cheers guys ... keep up the good work .. and all the very best for the future... will try concentrating on TP and help you guys if i can ... ;)

Thanks for the great feedback. :) And really useful info, since we do not always compare SMF+TP with SMF+other mods like this.

Thats a good piece of info.. What I have found to slow things down.. Large images, data pulled from other sites, and lack of Administration, meaning sites not often Optimised in the Admin Maintenance panel. I've found this does improve load times a lot.

I've never noticed TP itself slow my site down.. Only the additional codes and snippets used in the Blocks.

yes, sadly they are often not optimised so much, and by adding many the total resource use goes up.

I also found the PayPal Donate button slows the page down as it tries to retrieve the image. I put the actual donate button in an article and hosted the Donate image. .rss feeds tend to slow pages down a tad.

It all adds up to slow pages.

And what is going on with my browser? every time I reply, the Quick Find box in the status bar opens and I end up typing there instead.. lol.. I'm writing this in Notepad and pasting...

Guys, I have 2 test SMF forums just for playing arround with coding and I installed a new one as well.... to check 2 online forums + 3 [not for public online smf]

When test all five one by one on the same server space, this is what I came up with

TP+SMF+Simplicity theme+2 BBC mods  = The fastest of all
SMF Default+Ad Mod [ads displayed] + 8 BBC + Post Enhancement Mods [3]  = Was by far the slowest

* The winner here is first one but with a diffrence= 21mb data + huge loads of attachment

* Looser was a testing forum with no members and almost 0 mb data ...

Obviously the Ads was to be blamed but no, turning off the ads slightly improved on performance but not as good as the public forum.
