conditional blocks-or articles - if(something) display thisBlock

Hello, I was wondering about conditional blocks on my front page.ÂÃ,  like

Code Select Expand

if($_GET['block']=="gallery"
{//display the block with title 'gallery' and dont display the articles
}else{// just display the articles}

Oh, wait, maybe I need to display the article conditionaly.  Or can there be a block that is all the articles?  Maybe there needs to be another option on the frontpage settings: Frontpage blocks and articles

This is something I am working with now - the option of having one article or several in a block. So you can use the "frontblocks" as usual and also have any articles you like in it.

I've pretty much solved that problem for now with static Pages mod (I really didnt want an article in the block, I wanted html, where i could do an Iframe, etc.)

So thanks, I do think articles in blocks will be handy as well.
