Greetings everyone.

I'm the guildleader of an EverQuest guild named Ring of Valor.  We've just moved off of ezboard and into simple machines forum 1.05 wrapped in tinyportal 0.75.   Its at www.ringofvalor.org if you want to take a looksee.

Installation, great.
Ease of use, also great.

Everythings went very well, with a minor exception.   I've set up alot of forums, permissions for various kinds of users and whatnot and for the life of me I can't get the left and right pods to appear with the Content, Search, Themechanger, etc. to show up for my non-admin users.     Gotta be something I've overlooked.   Any clues?

Two things....
1. Make sure you are using a theme that has been converted to work with TinyPortal.

2. If #1 is correct, then proceed to TPAdmin. Click on edit Blocks. Then click to edit a block and you can select which user groups you would like to have permissions for each individual block.

Wow!   Thanks for the quick reply.

It was #2 that solved my problem as I was very careful selecting themes.

Going forward will it be tramatic to update tinyportal/smf versions and themes?   How do you guys generally do this.. wait for significant features then bump all three, forum, tinyportal and themes together as a set seems to be the obvious choice.

You usually have to update themes last. Themes usually have to be made compatable with a version of the SMF forum, and then be made to with with TP.

If only TP is updated, then it usually does not affect the themes, as long as they were TP compatable.

But, when you go from SMF 1.1 RC1 to SMF 1.1 RC2, I would wait because it will probably break either TP or a theme.  You need to have all three matched to the same update/ version.

TP0.8 will be ready for SMF 1.1RC2. ;) I aim to get it out right after RC2 is out.
