Download module. Authorization based on Users?

I'd like to use an Authorization based on Users instead of groups.
I would have the possibility to permit the download of a certain file only to some users, but users can be in different group...
Is it possible?

In the current TP version there is no permissions avaliable beside upload, manage downloads. So any of what you seek to have right now is not possible until future release/es.

I wasn't talking about tp permission itself...
I'm referring to the download of a file posted in the download module. Actually the authorization is checked by the smf permission system.. in tp you have to check some group you have created in smf to grant download privelege to the relative user...
my request is: it's possible to permit download only to certain user without regard to their group?
there is a mod or some tips to do it with little coding?

And the answer is no even there. The only permissions in the download section is by group at this time in the TP stage

Perhaps looking at the user number and comparing it to a list of accepted users?

I could see this being set up in a PHP article that provides a link to a file if the user number is permitted; however, unless you move the file into a temporary directory prior to each download, the URL to the file could be distributed and thus no checking of who is accessing the file.

However, unless you're a small forum or otherwise automate the permitted user listing... would probably be too much of a headache.
