You want list in bbcode works fine:

  • like this
  • then another

[list]
[li]like this[/li]
[li]then another[/li]
[/list]

Thanks for your help, everyone.

The code I used was just an example, and bbcode handles it just fine. But in many cases the HTML code could be more complex (javascript, tables, css classes, etc.) and I don't think bbcode will cut it. Even using the View SOurce and pasting the HTML isn't a sure bet. I tried my Google Ad code with this method and nothing shows up.  So, my conclusions are:

1)  bbcode + html blocks should really be considered bbcode blocks
2)  I should use script blocks for HTML

Thanks again,

bbcode and html is fine. But since you started adding javascript which is what google ads use, then you'll need to use a script block. People just need to understand the differences.
