Show Block / Article in Front Page ONLY.

How do I create an article that shows in the front page only and nowhere else?
I tried adding an article (Now Showing) in the Front Page block. I was surprised to see it shows up in all Article Categories (Admissions, Programs, etc.)

AFAIK you can't do that.
Did you try it as a block to see if that gives you what you need? With a block you would be able to set it to only show on the front page. (Front page Blocks)

That's what I did. I have it in the Front Page Block. But it seems to me it behaves like a Center Block, the only difference is, it's at the bottom.

Enter your Forum Administration > TinyPortal > Settings > Panels and select Yes for every "Hide * panel when in forum?" option.

This works for me.

Thanks for the suggestion, Man in Black, but it didn't work. Your suggestion only hid the panels when you are in the forum. And I actually wanted at least the right panel in my forum section.

What I intended to hide it from is when I am in the Category listing.

Also, the Panels Settings only had option for the left, right and center panel. There is a 4th panel, called the front panel block, that is where I placed my article and they never show up in the forum sections, only on the TP Front Page.

What I am trying to look for should be in here:


I am trying different values in this option with no success. I reckon it should be in the Show for this action: home or Show for this action: index or Show for this action: blank but none of these work.

How do you currently have it set? As a block?
And what are the other elements on your front page?

You may be able to pull your different elements into one article that shows only on the front page... thats the way mine is set up and it works well for my needs. Its easy enough to change or add/delete parts of the article as my needs for that page change.

I was able to successfully get what I wanted with that suggestion. I now have only one Featured article in my front page, with no front page block.

But I still would like to explore how to do it with front page blocks. As I have another website, www.globalpinoysg.com .

I have the same problem with this site. But I'm not sure if it is possible to put them all in one Featured article, because one of the front page block is an RSS feed (google news). I get the same problem, the RSS feed keeps on reappearing in all category views.

Its often just a matter of playing around with your content and the various block/article display options until you get what you want.

On the one that you see on my front page... at various times it has included photo slide shows, random pictures from my cpg gallery or my SMFgallery and many other things along that line. It has never included an RSS feed but that might be possible, for that part we would need to get help from one of our code specialists here at TP.
