Hey,

sometimes when uploading larger files, I get i "failed" message because it took too much time.
Is there any way to change the "time-up" number to a bigger one?

Could be the file is to large. You could upload the file to your TPdownloads folder and then install to your D/L's on your forum. This way you'll get no more time outs.

Porky

due a search here for server timeout. What happens your server that your forum is on usally sets a time to time out if it takes longer than that file size to upload.

...sorry...i really dont understand a thing of what u just said

G6Cad

Your host has probably limited the allowed filesize upload.
Most hosts have it set to 2mb only.

If you have access to the php.ini file, you can change the value your self, but if you dont have access to change the settings on the server itslef, you need to contact your host and ask them to set the upload file size to a higher value, and also the time taken for the file to get uploaded.

elite_thut

No the files size is not the problem...I have unlimited size...

I just uploaded the file by FTP so I don't have any time-out ...but I would like to change that time-out...that sucks.

G6Cad

Even if you have "unlimited" in FTP, it doesent mean the php settings on the server say you have it when you upload a file through a script like download manager.

The error you say you get is exactly what im telling you. The settings on your server needs to be changed.

elite_thut

Ok...I think you really don't understand...

I do have UNLIMITED file size, not only for ftp. I have my own dedicated server. Not a little free hosting sh*t

Anyway...I'm just gona do like rider said

No need to get upset. And if you have a dedicated server, you change the settings for the file upload size and time taken for it to get uploaded. In php.ini you have the settings you need to change.

And use bad language again and i will lock this thread down.
Also, provide the info needed BEFORE you get upset, do you really think i have a crystall ball to see that you are on a dedicated sever ?

And even if you are, i have given you the answer that will solve your issue.
