Im almost positive i did something wrong, very sorry but im new to this, anyone know what I did?

Seems like you are trying to install TP in it's own directory ?
You have to place all the TP files in the SAME dir as your forum.
Have you tried to install tp through the package manager ?

No, i used FTP and installed it in the www directory, was this wrong?

You have to install it in the same directory as your forum, it is builden IN the SMF and not around it, so you cant install TP in any other directory then your forum dir

with the package manager do i upload the zip file or what?

Yes, the zip file is what you want to put in the package manager. You should also read the installation docs in the docs board to get an idea of how it all works.

oh god it finally worked, and for the last part where it says i need to edit the files, do i edit them with dreamweaver then re upload them?

If you used the package manager and it was successful you shouldn't need to edit any files. But if you're doing the installation manually then you'll need to edit them. The instructions for doing so is in the docs board.
