Actually G6 the 1.1.2 upgrade does not do that. It is only changes to files. It doesn't replace any files that I'm aware of. I upgraded my forum to 1.1.2 without reinstalling TP myself.

Same here.  I believe I just updated the TP package and added 1.1.2 to the install and uninstall lines, then re-uploaded the file back to the Packages directory.

SMF 2.0 RC3
TP 1.0 beta 5-1
Wordpress 3.0

I didn't even install TP again. I just updated SMF in the package manager with no problems afterwards.

Thats strange, i had to reinstall TP when i upgraded (didnt use the patch in the package manager) but manual upgrade from 1.1.1 to 1.1.2 require reinstallation of TP, that I am sure of.

You are wrong, when he upgrade SMF, ALL mods will be lost, including TP as it's a mod like the others.
TP needs to be reinstalled as on a fresh install, all content will still be there as it's stored in the DB and the DB will not dissapare during the upgrade, just updated as the files.

When you have upgraded SMF, use the TP package thatIchBin posted in the install board, it is updated in the XML file to install through the package manager in SMF 1.1.2

When I upgraded my SMF from 1.1.1 to 1.1.2 from the Admin panel, I dont lost anything and everything including a few mods and TP are still fine.

You can see the thread from SMF where they talked about the upgrade that should NOT change or damage any of your mods as well.

QuoteFor users currently running SMF 1.1.1 upgrading could not be easier. Simply log into your forum and visit your admin center - a notice should inform you an update is available. Follow the instructions to patch your release - this should not generally affect any modifications, language packs or themes you have installed. Alternatively download the attached patch file and upload to your "Packages" directory and visit the package manager to install this fix. Note that due to the visual verification changes if you currently have a CAPTCHA modification installed you may need to uninstall this mod to upgrade.

When I finally upgraded to smf 112 TP 097 worked as before. Just to be sure I uninstalled TP and installed TP 0983 without any problems at all.
