Unable to install with SMF 1.1.2

I have SMF 1.1.2 installed. I uploaded tp 0.97.1 (the one in a post, patched for 1.1.2), and if I click apply in smf, I get after around 30-40 seconds just a blank screen. No error in the logs. I installed after that many different mod, without any problem, but everytime I try to install tp, I get just a blank screen after a while if I click apply.
Any idea? Timeout problem? I set already for testing the php execution timeout to 2 minuytes, but the same problem. It returns after 30-40 seconds with just a blank screen. I am totally lost...

I remember, I had once the same issue with another mod, which took long to install. Just blank screen. After pressing again and again apply, it finally installed.

Seems to be a timeout issue anyhow, maybe php related or apache related?
What could timeout? Apache? php? mysql? If any of them, how could I give the process more time?
