Can a thread topic be created on posting of an article?

Hey everyone,

I was wondering something. I noticed that when I posted a thread in the forums it would show up in the frontpage which is what I am looking and that is awesome! But another thing I noticed was that when I click on the comments it took me to the reply to thread which is also the best thing I have seen!

But when I post an article all it does is post the article, there is no comments and no topic thread is made in the forums! I would like to use the articles to post news and have a thread auto. created as well with the same info and so user can comment on the news in forums!

If this is not possible then maybe I could just use the forums to post and then have only forum posts appear on frontpage!

So is there anyway to do what I need, to create a thread auto. with a new article creation?

You have so you can enable comments to your articles, you have the settings when you create the article (allowe to comment)

But to make a post in the forum when you have created an article is some thing you need to code your self, there is not a default thing.
You can look in the code and snippets board and see if there are any similar question. If not, you can put your idea there and hope that some one will make it possible.

few modifications to the code and it should be good to go

so what I was thinking, is just create the article  like normal
drop in the end code you cut up, and just make a reply some thing like....

php code for group that can write articles ( prob admins )
[ url=of the article]View Article on What the Article is about[ /url]
maybe add a brief intro about the article that is detailing what they are replying to
oh ya and then below that.
(then the article writer simply types that out, and hits submit
( you maybe want to talk to the originator of the code about title :S, didnt think of that )
