Different blocks on home page than on inside

I'm still very confused about TP blocks.

I have a forum at http://www.vgrefugees.com/index.php?action=forum.  (Login as smfhelp/smfhelp to see what regular members see.)

I'm wondering if it would be possible to implement something like this:

I understand I can do whatever I want with the article, but what I'm wondering is whether it's possible to have right and left blocks that appear on the home page and a different set of blocks that appear in the forum, as they do now.  I know there are "frontblocks," but I can't really figure out how they're implemented.  When they appear, do they appear in the center of the page?  Can they not be frontpaged only AND either on the right or left?

Ok, to enable left or right or both sides on blocks go to Admin-TinyPortal>>Settings and activate them. Then I would recommend using Center Blocks for the ones to appear in the center and not frontpage.

Front Page Blocks show on the front page of the portal and are in the center, Left and right side blocks speak for themeself. Center Blocks can be made to show inside the forum, also can be made to show inside whichever boards you want them to show in.

You can make left or right side blocks that show only inside certain boards as well.

It is just a matter of playing with the blocks and see what they can do. Once you get use to them you will see the ease of use.

Tiny Portal is very customizeable.

halo! I kinda have the same issue.. In my site I only use left blocs (in both TP and forum) with the amber theme. The thing is I want some of the blocs to appear in the frontpage only others on the forum only. The only option I found is to enable the show only with this function --->"forum" so half the problem is solved. But there isnt a similar option show only with this function --->"TP frontpage" and all my left blocs show up on the forum also. Any ideas?

No ideas, that option is not built into TP. Yet.

Can I add to this?  Why do I have blocks showing on the front page when there are none listed in the Manage Blocks area?  I don't want any blocks on the home page.

This is probably an article that may be appearing on the homepage or something you would have to play with in Settings > Frontpage...

I fixed this by going into each individual block and down at the bottom where it says show for this action I put the setting for forum and it fixed it for me.  Hope this works for you.
