i really do appreciate the help but the crack about the search was uncalled for.

G6Cad

INHO it was not, you have now 105 posts made. 90 of them questions that we have answerd over and over again several times. in the posting guide there is a line where it say, Search before you write a question, also the crossposting the same questions i asked you to stop doing are in the very same posting guide.
We try and help where we can, but when the posting about questions we have given answers to over and over again are made, we provide the info about the search, Thurnok was kind enough to even take screenshots of the serach and how it looks. And when i asked you to look in the installations board for the premade file, and you asked me WHERE is that, i thougt that this was the time to show you the search and the screenshots of how it looks ;)
So please dont take it personally, it is written in the posting guide and i assume you have read it when you first came to this site  :coolsmiley:

Hi Tron.  G6 is not trying to be mean to you in anyway.  Here's some things for you to consider:
- There are 14k+ members here at TinyPortal.net
- There are 95k+ posts here at TinyPortal.net
- There are usually duplicate questions asked on any particular subject sometimes in excess of 100 times.
- Except for the first time a particular question is asked, and subsequently answered, the answer to a question can be found via the search feature

So, when around the 30th time a question is asked, you begin to wonder if members know about the search or how to use it.  In particular, if an answer to your question is already available, you should be able to find it using the search.

It is possible that searching for an answer will yield no result, even if the answer is already there, based on what search terms you use.  This is completely natural and in which case asking again is certainly encouraged.  However, due to the number of posts on this site, when you ask a question, the first thing a TP Team member will do is use the search to find your answer for you.  When your question contains the exact words used for the search to find the answer, we generally have to assume that either the search wasn't used, or that the member doesn't know about the search or how to use it.

I'm not sure if you are familiar with the term "Give a man a fish, you feed him for a day.  Teach a man to fish, you feed him for life".  Well, no words of wisdom are more true in the case of using the search.  If a support member has to answer the same question 100 times, just think of how many "new" questions that person now could not get to because of the repeated posts regarding a question already answered.

So for the sake of us getting more help to more people, we are trying to encourage members to use the search feature first, as it will generally get your question answered quicker (you won't have to wait for a reply), and it will free up time for answering new questions that come along.

If you read that post that G6 linked you to, and look at the actual screenshots, and what the member originally asked, you will see just how unnecessary the original post actually was.  Nothing against the original poster, as they were new, but sometimes its just the most obvious things that elude us.

So, please just take it with a "grain of salt" as the saying goes.  I think if you read the forums here enough, you will see that we do truly try to get everyone's questions answered as best as possible.  Though we are certainly no less fallible than anyone else.  :)

i am sry if i have offended anyone by my posts. im very new to smf and have 0 html knowledge.
thx and sry

No offense taken.  I was merely trying to give you the perspective from the "support" side of things.  Heck, I do only a triffle of support in comparison to G6 and many of the other TP Team members, but I can see from their shoes from time to time, so wanted to make sure you understood their frustrations that they inevitably go through occasionally.

The moral of the story is, its always ok to ask questions, but you should try to do your "homework" (read as: search) on the issue first to see if your question might have already been answered.

By the way, I'm not trying to point you out either.  My post is a generalization to the entire community and hopefully will help the TP Community to better itself.  There are quite a few superb members in this community that go about helping the others within it, beyond the TP Team itself.  I hope, and am fairly sure, you will become one of them.
