Yes, when i first got the forum a month ago, i did play around with the themes, but the one i have now and have had for a few weeks is the SMF Default theme.

No, i haven't played around with any code, because i don't know how to do any of that.

TinyPortal is an extremely intricate mod for SMF.  You should always install the most complicated mods first.  That being said, you should install TP as your first mod, prior to other mods.  If you are installing to an SMF site with various other mods already installed, you have basically two choices:
1) Uninstall your other mods, install TP, then reinstall your other mods (uninstalling your other mods will not remove any database items made with them, so in other words, you should lose no data accumulated via the other mods - example: SMF Gallery will still have all pics, etc.)
2) Do the manual installation for TP - follow the manual install docs.

TP 0.9.7 is the version you should be installing.  It is the latest release.
