TP isn't installing properly

I just installed SMF 1.1rc3 on a friend's ftp server for him and all was fine. Running good and no error log. I went to install TP 0.9.5b through Package Manager and keep getting the following error for #8 of TP's install actions: 8. Execute Modifications -- tinyportal09x-11rc3.mod -- Modification parse error (without the hyphens, of course, those are just there for separation in this post editer).

And while I'm thinking about it, my login is jacked up. Even though the users online says I'm logged in, the individual pages on the site give me guest login every time. When I do log into them, I am most often taken all the way back to the home page. Can someone look into this, please? Account name, of course, is Ciinien.

Any clues on this one, I've never encountered this particular error code before.

Thanks in advance for help, advice, and/or feedback!

Cheers!
Ci

Are you currently on the default theme? Did you install while in the default theme?

Ciinien

Yes, IchBin. I had a clean install of SMF, for all intents and purposes without more in-depth testing, on the default SMF core template.

Cheers!

OK, it might be a server issue. Something with permissions. Does your host allow to CHMOD to 777? Did you try a manual install of TP?

About the logging in issue, check your forum cookies options. Go to Admin-Server Settings.

If it's a clean install then just upload the files that G6 attached here in the installation forum to your install and then run the manual_tp_install.php file to make sure you database is up-to-date.

The login problems you're having are on this site? Clear your cache and cookies as I don't know anyone else that is having this problem.
