I was trying to implement the bug fix for the articles delete category.  It brought something to mind.

It would be nice if the person who creates the first posting of the thread go back and edit the first post...when all the bugs are out of the code, or the fix is complete. It is especially frustrating when you inquire about Block/snippets/packages.  There are a myriad of issues that follow the first thread.  The starter of the thread should at least make sure his first posting has the latest corrections, without having to find those corrections poked in some little place about 4 pages over.

Scrolling through and searching threads for an updated fix often requires reading the whole thread, and it's too easy to miss something.  You miss things, because people don't communicate in the same way.  You can lose alot in the articulations of different people.

A suggestion

We have discussed this a lot in the Team forum.
All i can say is that there will be changes to the Block Code and Snippets board when other things are sorted out.
A very good suggestion, but a bit hard to reach out to our members with so they actually follow the guidelins.
But there will be some changes in that forum :) And hopefully for the better.

Some of us 'Team" members may have to roll up our sleeves and dive in...  but it will happen.  (borgBOB leaves to look for his editing clothes...)

Great suggestion.

I always update my original post with the latest code for any of my blocks.  It's a good practice, and makes it easy for people to find/get the latest code.  There are others here that do the same.  However, not everyone has adopted that standard, though I'm sure we'll get them to see the light.  ;)

Its a great idea and as Thurnok said, "it's great practice". We definately have raised good questions and suggestions about the block code snippets board. There's definately plans to change the way things are done, but some things need to be sorted first.
