Hi, as the topic clearly explains, I run a 1.1RC2 site (had upgraded it from 1.07) with TP 0.86. The "1.1 RC2 to 1.1 RC2-2" patch is NOT installed.

I'd like to upgrade my site to 1.1RC3 and TP0.95 without losing my TP data. What should I do?

Here are the current packages in my package manager:

1.      TinyPortal      0.86
2.    SMF 1.0.7 / 1.1 RC2 Update

To update to RC3 you will HAVE to upload their upgrade package

Which means that your old files will be replaced.

After the upgrade you will see that ALL mods are uninstalled.

Then just go to package manager and install the new TP via package manager and when its done you will see that all your blocks are still there the way they were before :D

Hi akulion, thanks for the fast reply. I will do exactly as you said. What about the files with "~" appended? Such as index.php~, Subs.php~? is it safe to remove them manually?

I dont know about those files - im guessing they could be backups made by smf?

I also have them on my server but never thought about it, just left them be - best to leave those be and ask down at smf what those are

I guess these files are backups made by the package manager when you install a new package.

akulion

yup probably - never really paid them much attention myself

those files are needed there, they are set that way by diffrent mods, so if you want to uninstall the mod reset to those files.
But now when you upgrade, you dont have use for them any more as all the mods are lost and not there any more, so you can delet them from the folders when your upgrade of SMF is done, then proceed with the new mods you wish to install

I have successfully upgraded to 1.1RC3 and TP 0.95. I can even use my existing 7dana theme without problems. One thing missing is that the Gallery is not implemented. Fingers crossed, I wait for the gallery feature. Thanks guys, thanks a lot!
