SMF 1.08 Package Manager Install, and a question

I downloaded the latest TP, and tried to install it via package manager. All files worked except:

Execute Modification ./Themes/default/index.template.php Failure

However, I proceeded and the TP landing page was there.

So, I have two issues.

1. How do I get beyond that error (I will be searching here as well)

2. How do I mess around with TP without having it live, so I can configure it and then launch it?

I am using a modified default SMF theme, and I simply named it COPY and changed the look.

It failed on index.template because it was looking for code that you modified. In order to fix it you'll have to add the code manually to your index.template.php file. You can find the code in the FAQ section. Link in my sig.

You can't just turn TP off and still use your forum. Your best bet is to setup a test site for testing.

Ok, well, maybe I can set up a subdomain or something to test on (if that even works).

Alright, I created a subdomain, installed SMF 1.08 and TP, so now the testing fun begins.

I wish I would have done this day one.
