I run a very popular website that uses smf 1.1 RC2 and TP 0.8.6.  I am looking to upgrade but am a bit hesitant and have a few questions.  I tried doing a search and can't seem to find a clear answer.

1.  I am using Helios Multi where I colored one of themes to purple and locked it in.  If I upgrade to 0.9.5,  will it copy over the custom .jpg colors I converted to?

2.  Do I upgrade to SMF RC3 first and them 0.9.5?

3.  What do I backup exactly in case the install does not go well?

Thanks

IchBin

Always make a full backup before upgrading anything.

Order of installation should be:
1. Update SMF installation
2. Update Mods (aka TinyPortal).

You should not lose any of the theme modification on Helios. When SMF updates the only thing it touches in the default/babylon themes.

DESPERATE FOR HELP.  I upgrade to RC3 and now get the following errors.  PLEASE help me here.  I cannot even log in and I have a zillion people screaming at me.

Database Error
Unknown column 'memberIP2' in 'field list'
File: /var/www/vhosts/claymaniacs.com/httpdocs/forums/Sources/Subs.php

This isnt TP related, try doin a search on SMF for
"Unknown column 'memberIP2' in 'field list'

Do you have itemstats mod installed, it may be the cause of the problem.

IchBin

go into the smf_members table and look for the memberIP data field. Add a field identical only name it memberIP2. That should solve your problem.

Same error that i got the first time I upgraded to 1.1rc3 from rc2, IchBin rescued me that time  8)

Anyway, that error comes from when you actually use the WRONG upgrade package from 1.1rc2, You used the upgrade as i did, and that package give this error, you should have used the UPDATE package, but thats for SMF forums to inform better i think when you are in their download section and look for the correct versions
