Suggestion: Shout counter per user

Like post counts, I would like to see a counter that counted the total number of shouts that each user has posted in the shoutbox.  Is there an easy way to create this mod?

It would mean to get that info from the variables table - not impossible, but perhaps more work to actually show it in the theme. better as a code snippet in a block then I think. perhaps top "shouters" and/or simply adding your own shout count to the userbox type of block. I do not want it in posts display..because that means altering another template - more headeache if things go awry. But in the TP parts its another story.

Actually..its not difficult to modify current shouts routine to count you own - and keep the top ones. It can be done in the same sql call.

...but how do others feel? is this something that would be beneficial? or should it best be left as a "hack" to insert in a block if you want? ( i can write up the code for that of course)

Would never turn down a chance for more free code. Especially from a code guru like Bloc.

I don't think it needs to be built in. I agree it would be nice to have it available as a code snippet.
