I have created new membergroups that are not post base. When I place a member in this group as their primary group, they lose tiny portal left and right blocks and the front page blocks and the news, as set in their profiles by admin.  They can still post and see the forum without restrictions there.  I have given these groups  color stars like the moderator has.

But if I remove them from the primary group and place them in the additional group, then everything comes back but they lose they special stars.  Any ideas why this happens?

I tried changing the stars back to the post count one, but it made no difference.  At one time, when I assign someone to the non post base membergroup, they weren’t restricted like that and could see the Tiny Portal left and right side blocks.  So I must have done something that mess this up.  I have retraced my steps but nothing works.  Even global moderator is limited now.

She is in one of the primary membergroup and you will be able to see what the problem is.

After you added the new group, did you give them access to the blocks?

Ok, that is new to me and how do I do this?
I'll go see.
Edit
That works, thanks you're a sweetheart. :)

Someone has to go to manage blocks and edit one by one the ones he want his membergroups to see.

I have asked Bloc to add the block permissions in the permissions passed with creating a group based in another, as it is a bit time consuming editing all block permissions.

If you want just to give some extra permissions to some it is better to create a membergroup with these extras and use it as additional membergroup (even can be admin without showing it). The only reason to have a member in a primary membergroup is to make it show in the board. However sometimes this might be neededÃ,  ;)

I also wanted the new stars to show and in the additional group they lost the stars.  I did as you just said and went to each and every block and enabled the permissions for the new groups.  I created a private board and I didn't want any one to have access to it.  I have it working now, thank you .
