Having problems installing Tinyportal

SMF Version: SMF 1.1 RC2
Hello all, i'm trying to install Tiny Portal on a brand new installation of Simple Machines, and it's not working.

I installed simple machines and it installed fine, i had no errors in the error log. I downloaded the most updated version of Tiny Portal, and used the 'add package' interface in tiny portal to try and add the package. The zip file for the package uploaded fine, but when i clicked "apply" i got

can anyone help me out? i have no idea what the problem is. If you need any other information let me  know, thanks!

I think you have got the UPDATE only, and not the base install of TP.

Download this package and you should be ok, when that one is installed, you install the update .

err sorry, i don't know what information i didn't include, as far as i can tell i said everything you mentioned.

Brand new SMF install, version  1.1 RC2. No other mods running. The forums work fine. Uploaded the zip file for Tiny Portal 0.8.6 , and when i tried to apply the mod i got the message in my first post, with the error occuring at:

6.    Execute Modification    tinyportal080-11rc2.mod    Modification parse error

the website is at www.shotweb.net/believe/forums but i don't think that'll help since this is a problem with uploading a package.

If the package manager is not working for you, try a manual install.
Basicly the tinyportal080-11rc2.mod file tells you which file to edit, and what edits to make, and where to make them. Then just ftp them to your server, and run the tp_install.php file to populate the db.

you might want to try uploading tp with ftp software
check the permissions on your packages folder & on the tp zip after you have uploaded it

Hi,

i had the same problem.

- Newly installed SMF 1.1RC2 without any other mods.
- Upload Package TP 0.86 with Package Manager
- After Apply, the test give me the warning like in the first post
- Check all and find nothing
- Upload ZIP-File into the Packages Folder (overwrite existing)
- "Browse Package" and click "apply mod"
- all fine!
