Hi guys and gals, i am running the latest verison of SMF and want to add TP 1.06  Sadly this generates this error on my server log

[Fri Mar 09 13:48:01 2012] [error] [client 86.22.174.182] PHP Fatal error: require() [<a href='function.require'>function.require</a>]: Failed opening required '/var/www/vhosts/pocketvideogamer.co.uk/httpdocs/Packages/temp/./SMF2/tp_upgrade.php' (include_path='.:') in /var/www/vhosts/pocketvideogamer.co.uk/httpdocs/Sources/Packages.php on line 951, referer: http://www.pocketvideogamer.co.uk/index.php?action=admin;area=packages;sa=install;package=TinyPortal1_rc4.zip

Any advice please?

Did you try to download the TP package again, delete the old one and try to load again,

Some times the package gets corrupted during download.

Please Uninstall any previous ver of TP first or any other portal you may have installed ( if not disregard this)!,

That smells of server problems to me. You can try another way of installing TP to see if it works. First remove any uploaded packages you have in the package manager.

Then on your server in the Packages directory, create a directory inside that called TP. Unzip the files from the TP package on your desktop and upload all the files into that TP directory on your server. Now go back into the package manager and see if it allows you to complete the install by clicking the install link for TinyPortal. It should automatically pick up that you uploaded the mod files to that TP directory. And should give you an option to install things.

I managed to install it by using putty to chown the group owner and so on.

Is there a way to make this a perm fix?

Thanks

You can by setting up your server to run as the user account instead of the apache account. This is the reason you had to chown the files. But doing this is beyond what we can support here, so I'd suggest you look this up on some server sites.
