Can someone please explain to me this article thing?

I like the idea of having articles posted on my website. Currently, I have a board dedicated to articles, which is fine, but not how I would like it. For instance, the "article" board displays articles like threads of every other board, and so it's not too appealing (take a look). I would like to convert that board so that it displays every thread into large blocks, 3 rows by 2 columns (so six articles per page), and I want each block to provide a little bit of content from the article (or thread) - like about 100 words with the title on top.

Can someone explain to me how this can be done using Tiny Portal's?

I really like this software and support it all the way, but I need assistance. I tried the article option that comes with Tiny Portal, but it's really hard to understand; I seriously have no idea on how to post an article and where to go to post an article. I went into the permissions to give all regular members access to post articles, and then the "Admin" button showed up on the menu

TinyPortal Articles (I checked all the following)

Submissions are always approved   
Can submit HTML articles   
Can submit BBC articles   
Can edit own articles

Shuban, please follow our posting guidelines so we know what versions you are running for everything. For all I know you could be running TinyPortal 0.9.8 and SMF1.1.0. Please include that information every time you post a topic here.

Your words and terms you are using, seem to be interchanged. It's very hard to understand what you are asking. From this sentence, "I would like to convert that board so that it displays every thread into large blocks, 3 rows by 2 columns" I would have to say that you are asking about something that TinyPortal does not do. TinyPortal does not alter the layout of the boards and/or Topics. TinyPortal only displays topics on the front page, or TP articles, or both. But it does not do anything to boards and topics themselves.

The TinyPortal menu is not only for admins. It is also for users if they are given permission to do things such as submit articles or view downloads etc. When you have permission to post an article, you should see in the menu TinyPortal > My Articles > Submit Html Article etc. You should also see a submit article link in the user block if you have one set to display.
