Remove the date from this area.Please help me!

Hi,
I use SMF 1.1.12 and TP 0.98.
Can you help me please to remove the date from upper left corner ?
I use on frontpage the Forum-posts from only 1 area and I update that area every time and showing the date disadvantages me!(Ex: by abc on March 23, 2010, 03:43:44 PM)

In the settings page for the front page, choose 'Use custom template' and remove '{article_shortdate}' and '{article_date}'.

We dont actively support TP 0.98 any more, but someone may help if you would Please read the Posting Guidelines and a screen shot would help.

You might be able to use a css rule to target that with a 'display:none'.  I don't have a site with .98 setup, so can't be more specific, unless you post a link to your site.

However, anyone who views the source of your site, or without css, and probably rss too, would be able to see the date.

The best way would be to upgrade to the recent TP which has the custom template.  Not sure offhand if that applies to forum posts, but even if not you are far more likely to get some help with a hack if you are using a current version of TP.

On a side note, TinyPortal version 0.9.8 was first released nearly 4 years ago.  This is the main reason why we are no longer offering support for that version.  Most of the Support Team no longer even has a test site available to work with that version of TP.  I know that I don't.

What you are trying to do is much easier in the latest version of TinyPortal because the number of enhancements have greatly increased from then until now.  We understand that TP 0.9.8 still works great on your site and many people are still using it.  However, it is difficult at best for us to continue to supply support for it at this late stage.  My suggestion would be that you clone your database and use it to setup a test site.  This would allow you to install the latest version of TinyPortal onto your test site to see if the new features are something that you would eventually like to have on your live site.
