SMF Upgrade with Tinyportal?

Hey there,

Just wanted to see if anyone could tell me if i can update my forum from 1.1.10 to the latest version or would it conflict with the most recent version of TP, or when would we be seeing a newer version of TP to coinside with the latest version of SMF?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, main reason i ask as there are a few programes i would like to install but keep getting errors due to the version we are running?

You should be able to update with no issues. I have upgraded my few site as have others with no isses.

TinyPortal has not yet released for SMF 2.0 InsomniacP, so you cannot update to SMF 2.0 if you wish to use TP.

There will not be a set date for that release but it is in Alpha testing and we are progressing as fast as we are able to.

Appreciate the help, didn't want to upgrade untill it was safe... Are you sugesting I don't upgrade? the poster before said they are using the SMF upgrade on there TP?

TinyPortal v1.0 beta 4 (and earlier versions) do not work with any version of SMF 2.x, so if you wish to use TP you need to wait until the release of the TP version that will work with SMF2.x

Either way guy's your replies helped me thank's, would you be able to tell me if there is a mod to make some packages install easier? as mentioned before I am finding it difficult to install some MOD's as i get fatal errors?

NP... you would have caught it for sure, I just beat you to it.

Paul, it sounds like you're asking for something that's not likely to happen because each package is different, they have to be in order to avoid conflicts with the codes that a package tries to write to the SMF files.

Usually the thing you must do when you do have a conflict or an error is do a manual install for the package.
