Membergroup permissions & shoutbox issue

After a search, I haven't found a soultion to the issue(s) I am encountering.  So here we go...

There is one membergroup that I have been unable to get the Downloads link to appear for.  I have checked through the permissions under the Admin tab (TP) and the allowed membergroup box is checked for the peticular member group.  The downloads link is working under the remaining membergroups just fine.

Also, (related or unrelated?) I have not been able to get the shoutbox to appear for any membergroup.  This is not something that I have spent any time working on, but just thought that I would add that here in case there was a relation between the two issues.

What I have running:

SMF 1.1.10
Tiny Portal 1.083

No other mods

At this point, I feel certain that I am overlooking something... but not sure what or where.

I would check both Custom Member Group permissions and Post Count Group permissions, they may conflict if a member is in a Custom Group that has different permissions from their current Post Count Group.. it shouldn't, but check anyway.

You can get an overview of most permissions:

• Admin > Maintenance / Generate Reports > (theres 2 that relate to member groups, not directly to TP, though).
  
  There probably isn't any relation between the downloads and the shoutbox other than they are both Modules. Have you installed the shoutbox module?

After doing a comparison on the two permissions reports, I didn't see anything that appeared to conflict.  This issue has puzzled me from the begining.

On the shout box module, as far as I know the module is installed.  Doing a check of the files from the package manager showed a number of files (probably about 50) that were labeled tp - files/tp - modules/TPShout/xxxxxx.  I am not sure if this means that the files are installed, or are just present from the download.  If there is a seperate installation that needs to be made for the shout box, then it isn't installed.  Sorry for being a newb on this!

Is this a new installation of TP? How did you install, via the SMF Package Manager?

We'll try and work one thing out at a time, the downloads permission problem for this one member group, how many members does it affect? I think I remember something similar with another TP user, I don't remember what the solution was.

As far as the shoutbox, that can be addressed seperately.  I only mentioned that in the first post in the off chance that the two were somehow related.

The installation of both SMF and TP are new.  TP was installed with the package manager obviously after SMF was installed..

Setup info:

SMF Version: 1.1.10
Theme:  Default customized with logo (default copied)
Browser: IE 7.0.5730.11
Mods: Tiny Portal 1.083
Error Messages: none known

There are eleven member groups and the guest group.  The goal is to have the downloads option available to members that are signed in.  The downloads option is working for all but one of the membergroups.  The box has been checked for that member group to have access to the downloads.

I'll take a look at the thread that has been referenced.

Zetan, you rock!  The referenced thread fixed the issue.

Finally found out the reason. The link is not visible to that group cause it did not have permissions to view the sitemap.

Yeah, it does.  For whatever reason, it didn't work out for me this time (wrong search terms maybe).    I'll do another for the shoutbox issue before I make another topic.
