I have numerous blocks on one side of my forum which contain articles.

The bottom 2 blocks are causing the problem, 1 is a scriptbox and one is a html box, all some members can see is the block header and not the content of it( they contain adertising banners), its nothing to do with permissions as some people in newbie can see it and some cant, Its the same in ie7 and firefox and also on a phone,  I have logged in on my pc as one of the members who cant see it and i can see it .....

Any ideas of what could be causing this,
Is it a program missing from someones p.c ? If so what ?
Is it different screen sizes ?

Thanks

ZarPrime

As a guest, I can't see any blocks at all on your site.  If you want me to take a look and see what the problem is, setup a temp Admin acct. and PM me the details, including the title of the blocks that aren't showing so I'll know which ones to look at.

dunks,

OK, I can find no logical reason why some of your members can see the 2 banners and others can't, unless it has something to do with their image settings for their browser.  Just to make sure though, I went ahead and titled both blocks, and set both to "Use frame, but not title".  Ask them to take a look and see if they see the blocks now.

Do other images show up OK when they are viewing the page, like your center banner for instance?  The only other thing you might do if they still can't see them is to have them clear out their cookies and clear their cache in those browsers, and try a hard refresh of the page to see if that makes a difference.  Other than that, I can't dulicate the problem with FF or Chrome, and I just checked with IE7 and it shows up fine for me with that one as well.  The only other thing I could do is have a look at the profile of one of the ones that is not seeing the block and see if they have something turned off that would cause it.  You'd have to give me the name of one of your members though for me to check that.

Ive pm'd you on my site the members who cant see it, and also  a screen shot from one member showing the bottom 2 block not showing .

I will get one of them to do the above as well

thanks

Just a thought..

Global headers and footers can easily be misstaken to be tp panels when they infact are not.
It's not them that you have code in that your members cant see ?

Solved.....Anti virus software, Altering the settings on nortons or kaspersky and the blocks show, 5 off the members who couldnt see the block can now.

Thanks for everything

Most people haven't believed me in the past when I have stated that such strange problems come from software like this....

ZarPrime

That's funny. ;D I remember when I first upgraded to the latest version of my antivirus software (Norton 360) it had this little known option that automatically wiped out my history, cache, and cookies in FF until I finally found out why it was happening on the Mozilla Forum through a little searching.  Once I found out about that, I had no problems after that.

Anyway, glad you got it solved.
