How to show the first image from thread on home page and a "Read more" button

I am using smf 1.1.10 and tp. I want to see the latest posts from a board with only the first image on homepage and a Read more link to the full thread.

Is there any way to configure this with TP. ?

What do you mean "only the first image"? The first image of what?

The thread in my forum will contain atleast one image, So is there any way to get only the first image from the thread and show it on the frontpage of TP?

Only the image, no characters, . Like the wordpress plugin which takes the thumbnail from the blogpost and showing it on homepage along with the excerpt...

First image attached to the topic? Or first image linked in the actual post? This sounds like a very complicated modification if you ask me.

Image in the actual topic.., i have seen such kind of portal homepage in some VB forum...
Is it difficult to do this?

So you just want to display the first post in the topic, as topics are added, but not as subsequent posts are added to the topic?

I'm sorry if I sound dense, but it really is necessary to be very specific about what you want.

Unfortunately, I don't have access to a forum where there are any images, so I don't have any experience with queries that apply to images. That's the key, of course. Coming up with the query. After that, it's an easy matter of printing out the results.

Possibly someone else who has more experience with images will be able to help more.

check my forum and you will be able to see that all the images are being shown on the frontpage. I only want one image of the first post of the threqad to be shown there.
