Its been a while, but I have been updating my site and the links in it...

This is what I am using right now:
Powered by SMF 1.1.11
TinyPortal v0.9.8 Ã,© Bloc | Adagio design

Heres the problem,

I have been updating this page . http://talksurrey.ca/news/index.php?page=48 , and in the third column, you can see where the list is rather uhm, well incomplete...  ( s,t,u,v,w,x,y,z....)

None of the editors will let me add any more to this page, there was actually another section/cell at the bottom and during one of the saves it was wiped out, and will no longer save it.......
I have manually cleaned up the code in the other 2 columns cause it was a complete mess, but seriously..lol  wtfreak....I dont think I have been away from TP THAT Long...  ;)

Any answers?????

(wow, sorry about the mess of a post...its too early in the morning here)

Maya!! Great to see you again!

The problem is most likely because you are exceeding the text limit of the row in the articles table. If you look at the table in your database using phpMyAdmin or something, you'll see that the row for the body of the article is of type "TEXT". TEXT can only accept about 65,000 characters if I remember right. You'll need to change it to a MEDIUMTEXT if you want to be able to add more characters. MEDIUMTEXT goes up to something like 16 million characters.

I hope all is well with you. Don't be such a stranger around there!

Hey Brad... Thanks All is well, other than this stuff lol, I will be here often now that we are back on our site... Much to update... and much to remember ;)

I went in to phpmyadmin... but Im not really familiar with it,  soooo 1- can I change the text in there? and 2 - where is it? lol

looking forward,
Maya

Yes! I don't have a TP 0.9.8 install so I'm only taking a guess. There should be a table named tp_articles. If you click on that table to view it, you should be able to change it from inside there by looking for the row titled body. Then some where on that row is a pencil icon for editing the row. You can then change the type row to be either mediumtext or longtext. Either should be fine. Then just click the save or go button. That should do it.

Glad to see you will be around a little more often!
