i can not install any new packages i get the error "You cannot download or install new packages because the Packages directory or one of the files in it are not writable! "

i have chmod all folders to 777 to make the writable and readable but i noticed in the error log these errors.

www.simplemachines.org have the answers to your questions regarding their package manager and the functions for it.

UkGangsta

i no they do but the error if u notice is a tp error on line 33 of that file so i asked here first.

Ken.

You may have a server issue. If you check your files at a later time are they still set to 777, or did they revert to the previous setting?
On my server/host that happens from time to time and I must then contact my host and have him reset the 'ownership' of the files to me.
