gallery2 or wait for TP Gallery - That is the question

I would like to add a Gallary to my site I am considering using this modhttp://galleryproject.oldiesmann.us/index.php  and gallery2. However if TP is going to add gallery support soon I can wait. I define soon as less then 30 days.

Should I wait or take the Gallery2 route?

Ultimately, only Bloc can say when something will be released and there is no timetable.

If you look at the Roadmap, you'll see that the gallery is in there for 1.0, but only Bloc can say when the gallery will we be implemented and when it will be implemented in what time frame compared to everything else on the list. Given the amount of work that's represented in the Roadmap, it's probably a pretty safe bet to say that it will be longer than a month before it gets implemented.

But, again, only Bloc can really know.

I'm not speaking for Bloc, but my guess would be that the gallery won't be released to Beta testers for at least a couple of months. If you don't see the gallery on this site, you more than likely won't see it for a while. The TP team hasn't even seen a 1st working version of the gallery. Not that its far off or anything, but the fact is we haven't even started to debug.

Fair enough Gallery2 it is for now I can always change later.

Once gallery etc. is ready and stable enough, I do aim to make convert scripts..for those that use other scripts right now and like to switch. If there is any demand of course.

hmmm i was gonna say i'll wait indefinitly for your gallery but if your gonna do conversions for say coppermine I might do that as Ive tested all of them it seems and that one seems the most stable of the bunch.

I can't promise anything solid yet, but it makes sens to at least offer an simple conversion.
