Wow.  I know I'm asking a lot, and I'm willing to pay a reasonable price for help if it's really too complicated for me to do myself...

First!  Hi!  Haven't posted here in a really long while.  I have a SMF forum, with a TP installed, and a custom built theme.  I also have a WordPress blog on a subdomain.

What I'd like to do (if possible) is bridge my forum and my blog so that there are integrated users, and a button on the portal that points to the blog.  Besided integrated users, I'd like integrated categories - so that I can have categories on my blog automatically log a post to the corresponding forum section on my SMF forums. (That's a nice to have, not an absolute must have, unless it's really not that hard.)  Also nice to have would be replies to blog generated categories also appearing as comments to that particular blog. But I just know that that is TOO much to ask!  So the most basic ask is integrated users across the domain and subdomain.

Finally, I need my theme fixed - as previously mentioned, I have a custom built theme, and so I need a button to point to the blog, and also, I need the existing forum button to point to the forum, instead of the index page.

Ok - I actually sent an pm to the gentleman who developed my theme in the first place, but I haven't heard from him, and am not sure if he comes around anymore, so I'm posting this here as well, in hopes that someone will be very compassionate and give me some ideas, instructions, or offer of assistance!

Many thanks in advance,

QT

This would all be an SMF mod and quite a major undertaking at that. I think it's beyond the scope of what we would be able to do here.

I'll leave the theme questions to those who know more about themes than I do.

there is a bridge for the smf, but its only for 1.1.4, and very very few have gotten it to work..

you would be better off using a button on wordpress for the forum, or using the blog community mod from smf..  ;)

Oh!  That's not bad... Though I have appreciated WP, I'd be willing to consider switching.

Some questions: Can you import prior posts and comments? How do I deal with the subdomain? Does anyone know of a couple of blogs running on the platform?

you can convert posts into blogs, and the meta tags for the site come from the blog community..

you can tye your blogs with mybloglog.com and overall, Charles Hill has done a great job with it..

there are more plugins etc., coming for it

well i would show you mine, but took it down temporary.. but you can see it on his site and get an idea..  :coolsmiley:
