Hi,

SMF: 1.1.6
TP: 1.0.5

I have added several "non-frontpage" articles and I just want to link to them from a side blcok on the left. I thought everything was going well until I tried to click the links while not logged in as admin. As both a guest and a non-admin I simply do not see the articles. All I see are the header, the left blocks and the right blocks.

I checked the HTML source. Nope, articles are not there.

What could be causing this?

Example URL:    (snip)

Thanks,
Kevin

Yes. I set up categories like so:

Articles
News Items
  - Announcements
  - Events
  - Software releases

etc.

"Articles" is a top level category with no sub-categories, although I'll probaby create some at some point and re-organize, and this is where the articles that have been placed, which are not showing up.

Thanks,
Kevin

What are the permissions on your categories for the membergroups allowed to view them?

kmccann

Sorry for wasting your time. I didn't see the Access box on the left. That was the problem.

Thanks,
Kevin

Sorry, just one other question.

In all of these articles there is now a category icon. When I click on it, all articles in that category are displayed. Can I disable this feature? I don't want the category link in the articles at all. I have poked around in cat config, and in the separate articles but I can't see any option.

Thanks,
Kevin

Did you try setting the category icon to no-name in the category settings? ::)

kmccann

Aaaagh. I swear that option wasn't there in the pull-downs. OK, I realize it probably was, but all I could see at quick glance were the two image file choices. It's true.!!! Sorry. Again.  :buck2:
