No, Im sorry, I used the incorrect example first post.

I understand, I think, lol.

The forum is setup in admin.
So the category is Artist Permissions
Then the parent board is Our Yes Permissions
and child is A.

Should not clicking on Artist Permissions return you to that section, alone, apart from the main forum please?
I had been a member of another forum with SMF and TP and it did that.
Maybe it is a mod perhaps?

No. It doesn't work that way in SMF. Try it here on the TP site. In the linktree you see in this topic, click "Development." You'll get the forum. That's the way SMF works.

Okay, yes that is what it does here too, but how did that other forum do it?

While it may be going to the forum, what its doing is going  to the top of the category. You'll notice it actually shifts the screen down to put the category at the top of the screen. But as Deni said, this is how it works. If you can, show us the forum where you seen it work differently. Its most likely a theme or mod doing something to make it work that way.

It is TZ, not a member there anymore but they have SMF and TP and it do that. If I can find out what they had, will let you know.
