recomended smf (+tp) upgrade process

sorry.... rubbish question i cant seem to find an answer to on the search.

running smf 1.1.5 & tp1.05

want to upgrade to smf 1.1.6 prior to some further developments.

should i just do the upgrade and cross fingers ?

or should i uninstall & reinstall after ? (dont really want to lose my current tp settings if possible tho )

Upgrade SMF first. the info is found on SMF for the best way to proceed the upgrade for your setup.

When SMF is updated, you install TP as before ( depending on what upgrade of SMF you need to take )

so uninstall tp first ?

As i said, you need to go to SMF and read what upgrade that sill suit you the best.
One of the upgrades they have doesent require you to install any mods again as they are left alone, but the info is on SMF.

Upgrade from your admin panel from 1.1.5 to 1.1.6 is slick and easy. You shouldn't need to touch TP if you do it that way. Uploading any files will require you to install TP again.

for info.. as a test i upgraded my non-active forum via the admin panel link
1.1.4 -> 1.1.5
and
1.1.5 -> 1.1.6
with no adverse effects on TP.

no doubt when i do it with the live version it will all fall apart ;-)
