Hi,

I have a manual install of TP 0.96Beta on an SMF 1.1RC3 forum,  I'd like to get current with versions but am a little bit unsure of what I need to do in order to upgrade....

My thinking is this....  upgrade SMF, this will overwrite the themes and give me a base SMF 1.1.5 + the other packages that are installed EXCLUDING TP.

Install the TP 1.05beta package - not sure what will happen since the database still has the old TP version in it.

Manually edit my custom theme to use the newest TP code.

Does this sound about right?

Almost.  :)

It's generally considered to be best to install or upgrade SMF and then install or upgrade TinyPortal and only after those two installs are working correctly should you install your other mods.

In this case you might want to follow the guide that G6 has written:

and to remember, backup before you do anything else ;)

Well, I just checked and the other packages I have installed are just smf upgrades...

So, if I upgrade SMF, then do a full 1.05Beta1 install, I should just have to hand edit my custom theme yes?

Thanks for the quick replies.

Ken.

TinyPortal Doc's Board

There have been many changes between TP 0.96 and the current version of TP, so you should spend some time in the Docs board. (linked above)

As for themes, TP 1.x handles themes differently than previous versions and will run almost any SMF theme, only needing to have a 'forum' button added to the theme. Some of the themes found here on TP in the themes section have built in support for TP and will do the button for you.
