Ok, here is my problem with details on what I have done.
Thanks in advance for any help and advice etc..I am at my wits end on trying to figure this out.
----------------------
1. My original site was going down, so I did a full backup of it on my desktop computer. I had smf 1.1.x?/t.p0.9.8
That was sucessfull backup. Website ended with my host.
2. Got a brand new host at a new location, installed smf/tp098 fresh and then went to restore my backup files to the new site. I went into where it said backup restore, that didnt work. I tryed the sql backup restore that didnt work. All this from the control panel, so by this time my whole site was messed up and now it wasnt working, so I contacted my host and he said he would fix it.
3. He fixed it so that it was a brand new install again of smf/tp again. with no errors, though I did notice that my tp admin blocks were blank, but figured I would deal with that after I restored my old files. Anyhow, the host said I needed to  add the sql folder only through the control panel at the phpadmin icon, so I went to that and clicked import and found my sql folder from my backup and continued to restore.
4. Now it will only import 14tables, and keeps timing out, now my site is down again and I get this error from my email...There has been a problem with the database!
MySQL reported:
Table 'thndrmom_smf1.smf_settings' doesn't exist

This is a notice email to let you know that SMF could not connect to the database, contact your host if this continues.

And if you go to the site itself of course it shows this> http://pureownage.kpsh.us/

Connection Problems
Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later.

And I left a message with the host and am just waiting at this point to hear back again. But in the meantime I am trying to fix the problem as I think it is something I have got to be doing and I just don't have the knowledge of what it is, so can someone please help me, please. I am really lost and I really want to do this right. I appreciate your help very much. Thanks. Thndrmom

Switch to the Default theme and see if that works. Then in your themes page:

Admin > Configuration/Themes and Layout > Themes and Settings

Check that the paths are correct

also, download the >>> repair_settings.php <<< file from SMF downloads, which is under Tools. Upload to your forum root and navigate to the file. http://www.example.com/repair_settings.php and check all the paths there are correct.

Well, it looks like you fixed it.

I hadn't seen your reply but what I did is I deleted all my themes and re-installed them and they seem to be working so far, at first not all features were working but this morning I seem to have more abilitys, lol...I think I was getting very frustrated. Which is easy to do when you wish you knew more and you want to fix something and don't know how. Thanks again for everything, I will post again if anything comes up or not.  ;)
