I needed a block to not appear on the profile page, as it conflicts with some of the settings on the profile page.

However, after going through and setting up the block display options. It will still show it in the profile even if it is not checked.

It looks as if it is like that for a few of the other disply options as well. It did work for articles, show or not depending on setting.

Did you try "Hide panels when in custom actions:" in your Panel Settings?

I cannot replicate this, the option seems to work in TP 1.0.5 beta 2.
