Uninstalling TinyPortal 0.983

I'd like to upgrade to TinyPortal v1.0.5 beta 1, but when I click on uninstall TinyPortal 0.983 I get this error:

This package cannot be uninstalled, because there is no uninstaller!

Please contact the mod author for more information.

Go to http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php?topic=14195 and follow the instructions backwards. The page gives instructions for manually installing TP .98. Also, delete the files in the /Sources/ and /Themes/default/ directories that include "TP" in their names. Don't worry about the database. The installation of 1.05 will take care of it.

It sounds like the TP098 package on your server is not updated.  If check your original TP098 zip file, open the package-info.xml file with Notepad and see if you have the version of your SMF.  If you upgraded from 1.1.3 to 1.1.4, then you just need to add 1.1.4 to the install and uninstall section of that file.

Then save the package-info.xml file back into the same zip file.  The re-upload the file to the Package directory and you should be able to uninstall it through the Package Manager in the admin control panel of SMF.

actually just upload the tp0.9.8 package again replacing the old one in your packages directory. That should giveyou the option to uninstall.

Ichiban, I did that and it gave me the uninstall button but after I tried two files FAILED.

Execute Modification     ./index.php     Test failed
Execute Modification     ./Themes/default/index.template.php     Test failed

What now? I decided against the uninstall until I figure out if its safe to go with it anyway. Everything else says "SUCCESSFUL"

Reverse this and you should be safe

You can continue the un-install with the error.

You will need to follow the steps in the Manual Install Guide, in reverse, at the point detailing the procedure for the default theme index.template.php file.

Or, replace the default theme index.template.php with a new one. I would follow the guide, deleting the TP elements.

I had to do the same when I upgraded.

Did it. Worked out well. Installed 1.05 but it said the default/index.template failed, but I cant find out whats wrong with it. Looks fine to me after I installed anyway since that was the only FAILED one.
