Sorry if this post is in the wrong forum... please move it if it is.
I'm looking for a portal that can accommodate my needs. I have a Coppermine gallery with 5K images and about 800 members. The Coppermine gallery1.4.18 is bridged to SMF 1.1.5... and it works well. I would like to know if I can integrated these into Tiny Portal so's that only one log in is necessary. and that the front page of the portal shows the coppermine gallery.
Thanks for any replies.
I appreciate your input.
Regards,
Steff

Hello Halfhidden, welcome to TinyPortal.

The short answer is, "Yes TP can do that."  :)

TP uses the same member base as dose SMF because TP is a Mod to SMF so if your cpg bridge is working OK then it won't change because of TP being installed.

As for integrating into SMF/TP... AFAIK most people are using iFrames to do this, take a look at mine to see if this is what you have in mind:

If so we can point you to the easy directions for doing it this way.

Thanks Ken. I like the look of your site... We are fans of heroes here as well. I'll download the script and get busy with it.
It's nice to come across a nice community on support as well. Thanks for your understanding.

I have never had any issues with Coppermine bridged to SMF with TP installed. As I have upgraded all three packages as needed over the last year or so, everything stayed working and no problems for me.

As Ken said, I also use an IFRAME to load the gallery through a php article to maintain the 'seamless' interface. The topic has been covered here with some good examples.

Be sure to do a little reading in our Docs and FAQ sections before you start the install process, it'll make it much easier for you.  :)

Thanks that would have been a question for me soon... That's very comforting to know. Some portal scripts hinder the upgrades of the forums and forums by changing the core product so much that it's difficult to affectively upgrade.

Thanks I'll take a look at this section.... I plan to run this on a test site first and get to grips with the portal before porting this to the live site.
Thanks for your help.

Ken.

As it happens G6 is in the process of writing a nice little How-To for setting up your testsite, getting it right and then transferring those files to your livesite...  If we've not published it by the time you get your testsite all sorted out post back for details.

Thanks that sounds great.
As with all these things... it's mostly knowing the format of the application...... and searching for answers to dumb questions, so a step by step would be really handy....
I've already installed the mod and am now about to configure it as soon as I've read the manual.
