Oh... it's working now. Thanks.
Also what is English and English UTF8?

massyboy

I'm getting the missing admin panel too.  My SMF is set to English.  That's the only option I have in the drop down box.  What am I doing wrong?  I don't see any option for UTF at all.  It was a manual install btw

Thanks

G6Cad

You wont see any options for utf8 language if you dont have the utf8 language strings in the default themes langauge directory.
You have to add those manually to. You find the english utf8 in the download section.

Do I need to have that installed then?  Everything else went ok

G6Cad

No, only if you want to run the forum in uft8

If you have regular english you use the same for tp.
Make sure you have the files (langauge files) added to the default themes language folders with all the other language files.

I don't have any real need to use UTF.  The forum itself worked.  Funnily enough, I can't see a link to the forum any longer either now.  Have I missed something?

Please read the sticky topic made by ZTN about missing text for the TP admin.

And if that doesent help you, read the modinstruction in our doc board and make sure you have done ALL the steps.

I've found the problem while looking at the folder tree in my ftp program.  When I downloaded the files from the server to edit, I created individual directories so I could just upload the whole folder but I didn't keep the letter casing the same on my hard drive as on the server so the files in the sources and themes folders were actually called Themes and Sources and so I had folders called Themes, themes, Sources and sources.  My bad.  Sorry :(
