Please help me install tp

I have reinstalled smf to the latest version and installed tiny portal but it does not show up
Ztn had a look and installed Sticky First Post which works but tiny portal still does not work

I have just tried to install tiny portal, i did all the code changing,Then run the install which came up okay and welcome to tiny portal i then refreshed my page then i got this error

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_DOUBLE_ARROW in /mounted-storage/home21b/sub001/sc20684-SMHX/friends/forum/index.php on line 331

I read the help docs and changed the error and my forum still wasnt there , I have tried 10 times today to install tp deleted my forum re installed and reinstalled tp
this is the message i get when i install through the package manager

The package was installed successfully. You should now be able to use whatever functionality it adds or changes; or not be able to use functionality it removes.
But it still does not show up
I have been in conaTact with my host and they said everything is running okay and there is nothing wrong with chmods as ztn thought this may be the promblem
Can someone please try and find out why it is not working

If its not working for you, it boils down to a server cofiguration issue. You'll need to do the manual install. Instructions are posted in the Docs board.

I added a link in my first post. I have tried a manual install 2 today
My forum is friendshipzone.co.uk/forum
I have had different types of boards which have needed chmodding and i have never had these promblems before

If you can't get it to work with the package manager the manual install is the only way. Without knowing what you have done on the manual install there's no much I can do about your problem. So, care to share any details?

Did you manage to resolve this gemmk1?
TinyPortal isn't usually this hard to install, as I suggested and IchBin.. it really does seem seem to be a server configuration problem.

Installing the package 'Extend Sticky Topics' worked well enough with the package manager and if you've had no problems with this host before, then you really need to either contact them again... or hit it with a hammer.. the latter should do the trick.

I can't remember now if you have done a manual install... If you haven't, then you will probably have to.
