I currently have TP and SMF installed on my site, but I am very confident that I have tons and tons of errors in the HTML that I have hacked together to make it work when I mess it up etc.
Anyways,
I would really like to re-install SMF with TP and use my current database. My current version of SMF and TP are both out of date, and I am afraid with all the changes I have made I will end up crashing the site if I try and update it.

Is it as easy as it sounds, just reinstalling SMF and TP, and then copying in the old SMF database or will I find this to cause tons of errors?

I really want to "clean up" my site, I believe it would really help the site run smoother, not to mention I would be able to install modifications etc again and actually get them to work.

Thanks in advance!

creek, you should really search and seek help at SMF. These types of questions have already been asked 100's of times.
