Its been awhile for me.
I just tried to uninstall 0.9.7 through the package manager so I could install 0.9.8
I got this error..

"This package cannot be uninstalled, because there is no uninstaller!
Please contact the mod author for more information."

Can I install 0.9.8 over 0.9.7?

Any help would be appreciated
thanks

Download the manuall package and extract the files on your local PC, then upload and overwrite your old files through FTP and then execute the manual_tp_install.php and your set to go with your upgraded TP
The file edits are allready in the SMF files from the TP V097

I'm not sure that is the best route, unless you happen to remember what changes were made to the files between 0.9.7 and 0.9.8 ? Any reason he can't just upload 0.9.8 and just install? Between 0.9.7 and 0.9.8 its not necessary to uninstall the previous version.

The changes if i remember correct were only to the DB and the TP files them selfs so it should be to just replace the TP files and update the DB tables.

I don't think so, weren't things added to the profile and stuff as well?

Just tested and your right, need to be uninstalled to be able to upgrade to tp with a fresh install, my bad and im sorry  :-\

So with this we change route.

Manually install TP V098 with upload and overwrite the old files, and then with help from the modinstruction go through the code in the SMF files that TP adds and check it, where it soesent match or are missing, replace the code with the one from the modinstructions.
Then point the browser to the manual_tp_Install.php file and this time it should be good to go :)
